- Define the technical vision, strategy and roadmap in alignment with business stakeholders
- Oversee all engineering operations and ensure that initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Manage the engineering team and ensure that team members are working effectively to deliver high-quality projects.
- Hire, train, and develop engineering team members, ensuring that they have the skills and resources required to deliver their work.
- Develop and implement engineering processes and procedures to improve efficiency, quality and security of engineering operations.
- Partner with the business to understand customer and business needs and deliver products that meet those needs.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices and ensure that the engineering team is following these trends and best practices.
- Ensure that the engineering team is following all relevant regulations and standards, including safety regulations and industry standards.
- Manage the engineering budget, including setting budgets for individual initiatives and ensure that spending is within budgeted amounts.
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related field or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- At least five years of experience in engineering management, with experience managing teams of engineers and delivering high-quality products.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, including software engineering, product design and development.
- Strong understanding of Agile principles and processes.
- Experience as an engineer.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams.
- Experience in developing and implementing engineering processes and procedures.
- Ability to manage budgets and financial resources effectively.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
