Legal Counsel - Maritime (Shipping Industry)

- Manage and advise on the company's legal affairs regarding ship/sale purchase (SNP), charter party contracts, claims, vendor agreements, ship financing, and other commercial matters.
- Provide comprehensive legal advice to departments such as Trading (S&P), Operations, Chartering, and Finance, including general corporate and commercial advice
- Oversee litigation management of contentious disputes, collaborating with an external panel of legal counsels and law firms across major international shipping markets for ongoing and developing arbitration/court proceedings matters.
- Conduct compliance and regulatory due diligence, offering sanctions advice on counterparties, vessels, and corporate authorities. Identify, analyze, and assess legal and compliance risks, both contractual and regulatory.
- University degree in Law (LLB). A postgraduate degree (LLM) with specialization in Maritime Law or any other related field will be considered an advantage.
- 1-3+ years of previous experience in a similar in-house role or experience in a private practice law firm.
