DescriptionTo assist the Richmond Community Church & Family Services to provide families and individuals in need with community services.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Help serving meals (dinner) and cleaning the food truck
  • Assist with cleaning up the facility
  • Moving the donations from food truck to freezer and fridges
  • Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:Canada Summer Job Eligibility:
  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
HOURS: Summer Contract - 8-16 weeks (35 hours per week including some evenings and weekends)Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:
  • Background check consent.
  • A clear vulnerable sector screening.
  • A clean drivers abstract.
  • Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training.

  • Awareness and compliance with Salvation Army Policies and Procedures
  • Must be able to complete a Police Security Clearance Certificate
  • Ability to engage with people from multiple socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds
  • Willing to work in a social services setting, assisting clients who may be homeless, have addiction/mental health issues
  • Able to work cooperatively in a team setting with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Some computer skills
  • Food Safe, Driver's License and First Aid/CPR are an asset
