Community Ministries Worker (3 open positions)

- Help serving meals (dinner) and cleaning the food truck
- Assist with cleaning up the facility
- Moving the donations from food truck to freezer and fridges
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
- Background check consent.
- A clear vulnerable sector screening.
- A clean drivers abstract.
- Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training.
- Awareness and compliance with Salvation Army Policies and Procedures
- Must be able to complete a Police Security Clearance Certificate
- Ability to engage with people from multiple socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds
- Willing to work in a social services setting, assisting clients who may be homeless, have addiction/mental health issues
- Able to work cooperatively in a team setting with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Some computer skills
- Food Safe, Driver's License and First Aid/CPR are an asset
