Job Description:Posting Open Until FilledPart-time/SeasonalGeneral Description and Classification StandardsThe City's Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is designed to provide opportunities to explore career interests and build work-related skills. Our youth participants develop marketable skills through hands-on work experience and earned wages and stipends through paid internships and employment within a variety of industries, including positions within the City of Atlanta government. The SYEP serves to provide safe spaces for youth and young adults to enjoy the summer while advancing their craft and propelling closer towards their goals.Essential FunctionsGeneral filing.Answering general phone calls, inquiries, and requests, and routing to the appropriate party.Managing conference room schedules.Managing and monitoring copy rooms.Providing coverage for front desk/receptionist area as needed.Assisting the legal secretaries with closing old outside counsel invoice files.Organize supply room.Closeout and archive legal files.Other duties as assigned by supervisor.Assisting with the provision of legal advice and counsel services to various departments within the City;Learning civil litigation skills and assisting with trial preparation;Gaining transactional law experience by assisting Attorneys with research and drafting;Attending and taking notes at various meetings, including but not limited to City Council and Committee meetings; various board, agency, and commission meetings; client meetings, internal departmental meetings, etc., as appropriate.Qualifications:Minimum RequirementsCurrently in high school or pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline for the department in which person is an intern.
