The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.Finance is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial and regulatory reporting for the Firm. They prepare external financial reports for public filings and regulators. For internal reporting Finance, along with Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA), summarizes, plans and forecasts the organization's financial position, including income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future revenues, expenses and earnings. Finance is comprised of Business Unit Controllers, Infrastructure Controllers, Accounting, Regulatory and Reporting groups, and Valuation Review.Position Description
Given the business growth and more complex environment, there has been heightened focus and demand for timely and insightful analysis and planning for Wealth Management Finance ('WMF') controllers. A new centralized team was structured to help meet the demands, engage with broad stakeholders and enhance our infrastructure and processes more efficiently.We are looking for an experienced candidate to join the product controller team. The optimal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with 5-10 years of professional experience, including prior experience in product control, financial reporting, auditing or a similar role that has given them exposure to financial products and markets. The role requires flexibility with the ability to multi-task and quickly pivot as priorities change. The candidate will provide support to the WMF controller team by supporting various daily, weekly, and monthly deliverables. The candidate will assist in enhancing current processes and reporting along with supporting ongoing or new finance initiatives. Primary Responsibilities
> You will oversee daily, monthly, and quarterly P&L and balance sheet reporting to build knowledge and expertise across various non-bank wealth management products.
> You will lead various month-end general ledger close processes including creating journal entries, reconciliations and analysis.
> You will support quarter-end, mid-year, and annual financial reporting deliverables.
> You will partner with the businesses and CFO teams to understand the impacts of various business activities.
> You will support the development of internal management reporting for WM products.
> You will support the overall execution and drive continued improvement of control frameworks.
> You will serve as product owner for reporting enhancement initiatives and aid developing business requirements with Technology.
> You will drive and own ad-hoc projects & analysis as required.Qualifications:
> You have a BS/BA degree with Finance and/or Accounting experience required.
> You have 5-10 years post-college experience in financial services industry.
> You have a demonstrated ability to support multiple projects, manage expectations and complete deliverables in a timely manner with exceptional attention to detail.
> You have strong interpersonal collaboration and team skills including working with cross-functional teams - proven flexibility, adaptability and reliability.
> You are a self-starter with exposure to project management skills and sound business judgment.
> You have a strong working knowledge of MS Office with an emphasis on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
