Job Description: We are looking for a competent and precise Dermatology Histotechnician to provide essential support in our diagnostic lab. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing tissue specimens for microscopic evaluation by our dermatopathologists. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and adherence to strict laboratory protocols to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.Key Responsibilities:· Prepare histologic slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by pathologists.· Embed processed tissue in paraffin.· Slice tissue samples using microtomes.· Stain tissue sections with dyes or other chemicals to make cell details visible under microscopes.· Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, such as microtomes, tissue processors, and stainers.· Ensure cleanliness and organization of the laboratory.· Adhere to all laboratory safety protocols and standards.· Record and manage data related to tissue specimens and outcomes.· Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals regarding laboratory findings.· Stay informed about the latest practices and techniques in histotechnology.Qualifications:· Certification as a Histotechnician or Histotechnologist by the ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent.· 1-2 years of experience in histotechnology, in a dermatology setting.· Strong understanding of histology, anatomy, and pathology.· Ability to handle delicate laboratory instruments and biological specimens with care.· Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow complex instructions.· Good organizational and communication skills.· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Benefits:· Competitive salary based on experience.· Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance.· Opportunities for professional development and continuing education.· Supportive and collaborative work environment.To apply for immediate consideration send your resume to paige.christy@gogpac.com
