The role provides cleaning services in RVG resident homes and/or public areas in the village, whilst maintaining professionalism, confidentiality and respecting the privacy of RVG residents. It carries out routine safety checks in the laundry environment and ensures all chemicals and equipment are handled appropriately.Hours of work : Mon-Fri 8am-12amKey Responsibilities
  • To ensure that all laundry from the resident’s apartments is collected and labelled correctly when their apartments are cleaned. Items need to be checked to ensure that they are present and listed. Make a note of any tears or holes in the garments/private linen before washing.
  • Operates laundry equipment safely and to standard, ensuring all bedding, table linen, towels and garments are cleaned, dried and ironed according to care instructions.
  • When instructed, to clean resident homes and/or public areas to standard; dusts, sweeps, vacuums, mops, cleans ceiling and other vents, sanitises washrooms and kitchen areas
  • Carries out heavy or special cleaning tasks on a seasonal or rotational basis, according to schedule; reacts to incidents to ensure spills and other cleaning issues are dealt with appropriately and in a timely manner
  • Identifies areas for improvement, recommending updates to cleaning rotas to achieve the quality of output needed to meet RVG and any regulatory requirements or guidelines
  • Stocks and maintains cleaning supplies for the laundry following RVG purchasing procedures
  • Maintains equipment ensuring all equipment is clean, dry (as appropriate) and stored safely; notifies managers of any identified defects, repairs or replacements needed
  • Follows all applicable health and safety guidelines, including COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) guidelines; using only those products for which training has been received.
