- Reviewing and analysing current cloud cost data across all cloud providers to identify trends in spend, key cost drivers and support risk management around cloud spend.
- Performing detailed cost modelling to support budget predictions within an acceptable level of accuracy, and data / evidence-based decision making for cost optimisation of Cloud services.
- Working closely with teams on budgets, financial analysis, reviewing spend and return on investment (R01) across cloud investments.
- Collaborating with team members in the preparation of documentation for cloud cost management and reporting and the development of the cloud optimisation strategy for the agency.
- Utilising data analysis tools and techniques to enhance cloud cost reporting and communicate information to enable agency stakeholders to make data driven decisions.
- Providing input to support cost estimates for investment appraisals, project business cases, and cost benefit analysis to support investment in cloud and sustainment cost considerations.
- Engaging proactively in discussions with procurement teams and existing cloud service providers to understand pricing models and identifying opportunities for refinement of services.
- Working within project teams, executives, and colleagues to influence strategic decision makers whilst delivering practical solutions.
- 3-5 years cost and/or financial modelling in a Federal Government or a private sector engagement.
- Modelling for pricing evaluation for a major ICT or asset project/program.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding and/or experience in cloud financial operations, including consumption-based billing, cloud financial optimisation, cost allocation, internal charge back/show back.
- Commercial acumen (investment support, scenario planning, issue identification and resolution etc).
- Communicating with influence, negotiate outcomes & manage complex stakeholder relationships.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven ability engage with stakeholders and build effective relationships.
- Ability to set priorities for multiple completing tasks, manage changes to work requirements, and deliver quality results within tight time limits.
- Strong knowledge, experience and understanding cost governance models.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or industry recognised certification.
- Experience with Cloud governance practices, especially in a government context.
- Sound knowledge and experience on financial management including budget forecasting
- Start 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025 with 2x12 months extensions on offer

- You must be an Australian Citizen& hold or be able to obtain a NV1 Security Clearance
