The Education Business Effectiveness Service supports maintained schools in Waltham Forest to secure and maintain financial sustainability to ensure high quality education continues to be delivered to all children and young people in Waltham Forest.Do you have recent school office experience? We are looking for a highly skilled, dynamic and results oriented Projects Officer to provide high quality 1st line support to Waltham Forest's Maintained Schools.The successful candidate will be dynamic, efficient and motivated individual with experience of working in a busy school environment. They will also have experience of school financial software and a strong reconciliation and commitment to excellent customer service delivery.Key Responsibilities:Working closely with School Business Managers and other relevant staff - office staff to senior leaders and Governors - involved in the area of school business management within Waltham Forest's maintained schools, you will provide support in areas of office processes, finance processes of reconciliations, finance software support, procurement, premises and marketing. You will also work with a range of Council services to ensure that maintained schools in Waltham Forest have are supported to enable them to be financially sustainable, compliant and maintain safe environments to enable the delivery of good quality outcomes for children and young people.You will also accurately record, collate and analyse logs and query data for use in identifying training needs, capacity development and reduction of financial and business risks to schools and the LA.Managing the EBE helpdesk queries on a timely basis.Key project involves financial systems reconciliations within Excel Software package.Qualifications and Requirements:To be considered for this position, you should meet the following requirements:
- Highly professional, organised, resourceful and with a good eye for detail
- Strong Excel Skills and Microsoft software knowledge.
- Experience of, and competent user of, key school software and systems such as SIMs and ACCESS/HCSS is desired.
- Ability to use discretion, ensure confidentiality and exercise professional judgement
- Strong team player who works collaboratively and inclusively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Able to prioritise tasks and work under time limits to deliver a service specification
- Ability to deal with multiple requirements effectively to deliver best value and maximise outcomes to deadlines
- Able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and colleagues at all levels within the organisation and externally
- This post demands a high level of flexibility, a positive attitude and ability to adapt to changes due to service needs. This post is office based and the post-holder will be expected to work at other sites and to provide cover for similar roles.
