A bachelors degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field such as Housing Studies, Urban Planning, Public Administration, or Business Management.
Additional qualifications or certifications in project management, change management, or housing policy are desirable.
Experience:
Proven experience (minimum 5 years) working in housing management, preferably within a local government setting.
Demonstrable experience in leading transformational projects or programs, including project planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership working with housing associations, developers, community groups, and government agencies.
Track record of successfully managing budgets, resources, and delivering results within set timelines.
Knowledge and Skills:
In-depth understanding of housing policies, regulations, and best practices within the UK context, including knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Housing Act and planning regulations.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to develop and execute project plans, monitor progress, and mitigate risks effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, negotiate agreements, and build consensus.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to inform housing strategies and interventions.
Proficiency in IT tools and systems.
Leadership and Management:
Proven leadership abilities with experience in leading and motivating cross-functional teams towards achieving common goals.
Ability to inspire innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement within the housing division.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex challenges and make sound decisions under pressure.
