- Answer the phone and redirect call to appropriate person
- Assist with the counter sales
- Order taking by either counter, phone or via emails
- Assist other members of the sales team during slow periods
- Be proactive in the solicitation of business which includes job follow-up, quotation follow-up, sales tape audits (call customers who have fallen behind in purchases), special product emphasis, new credit aps, and other lead sources.
- Handles inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales.
- Overcomes technical and business objections of prospective customers.
- Emphasizes salable features, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained.
- Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
- Builds and maintains customers relationships.
- Prepares reports of business transactions.
- Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
- Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
- Advise manager of all competitive situations.
- Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships and advanced product knowledge.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, math aptitude, diplomacy, and computer literacy
- Knowledge of building materials sales experience is a plus, but we will train the right person
