Job ID: 18024Position SummaryThe purpose of the role of the Parts Advisor is to provide technical support in the procurement and supply of parts, components, materials and consumables to keep the equipment repairs ongoing. Working with preferred vendors, tracking parts for arrival, storing parts and ensuring the prompt return of damaged and incorrect parts.Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Responsible for ordering parts, confirming orders and monitoring delivery times
  • Receive all shop related items, label and distribute immediately upon receipt or store in an organized manner until the assigned job is ready for the part
  • Track any incomplete order status (outstanding orders and back orders) and follow up as necessary
  • Inspect all parts for damage, quality and accuracy upon arrival
  • Return and re-order any damaged or incorrect parts
  • Pickup parts at vendors as requested
  • Track and monitor any parts related vendor returns including warranty items.
  • Look for supplying alternatives (new and used parts)
  • Assist shop with any parts related research
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Completion of post-secondary education
  • Prior parts experience a plus
  • Prior clerical or warehouse experience preferred
  • Prior Heavy Equipment shop experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills, and aptitude to learn new programs
  • Exceptional communication skills, oral and written
  • Ability to read and understand the basics of repair instructions, and work orders
  • Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills; adapts easily to a fast-paced environment
  • Personable, friendly demeanor with a solid customer service approach
  • Must be able to work consistently between a climate controlled professional office and shop environment
  • Requires long periods of sitting or standing depending on daily workflow
  • Requires the use of standard office equipment (i.e computer, copier, scanner, etc)
  • May require moderate standing, walking, bending or stooping
  • May require lifting of up to 50lbs
