The successful candidate will join a dynamic team and support our work on business, finance and biodiversity. You will get the opportunity to work on flagship projects such as the European Business & Biodiversity Platform, studies related to biodiversity certificates, and the transformation of business and finance towards nature positive models. Your work will benefit clients such as the European Commission, national governments, and international and national development finance institutions.Our team has built a reputation for the successful delivery of large, complex projects, developing innovative solutions that drive positive change for their clients and support the overall sustainable transition in the EU and beyond. Some of our flagship projects include:Delivering the European Business and Biodiversity Platform since 2013 for the European CommissionContributing to the design of a standard on biodiversity measurements and valuation for corporates and financial institutions through the Align project (Aligning accounting approaches for nature) for the European CommissionDesigning Sustainable Finance Action Plans for different EU Member StatesEvaluating the impact of green bonds on supporting climate mitigation investments for the European Investment BankSupporting National Promotional Banks in Poland and Spain with their sustainable finance strategiesProviding continuous expertise since 2019 to support the successful implementation of the EU Emissions Trading System’s Innovation FundResponsibilities:You will work as part of a multi-national, multi-disciplinary and collaborative team of climate and environmental experts, economists, engineers, financial experts and communication specialists to:Manage and deliver projects for public and private clientsProvide robust and sound qualitative and quantitative analysis and support the translation of complex data into meaningful and impactful recommendationsEngage with stakeholders through both quantitative and qualitative surveysSupport ICF’s business development efforts in the field of business, finance and biodiversitySupport ICF’s thought leadership in business, finance and biodiversity, identifying emerging trends and opportunities and help to translate these into new service offers that will benefit clientsRequired qualifications & skills:Fluency in spoken English and excellent English writing skillsMaster’s degree in biology, ecology, environmental sciences, environmental economics, environmental engineering or a related disciplineProven track record in the field of business, finance and biodiversityStrong qualitative and quantitative analysis capability, including advanced knowledge of Excel and equivalent toolsProject Management skills demonstrated by concrete experience of dealing with complex projects and multiple stakeholders in an international environmentProven communication skills and track record in the field of stakeholder engagement, especially within public authorities and the business and finance communityAbility to work independently as well as within multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary consulting teams spread across several countries and time zonesProfessional experience of at least 6 yearsPreferred qualifications & skills:Fluency in a second EU languageFamiliarity – and ideally some project experience – with emerging tools and frameworks in the field of business, finance and biodiversity, e.g. SBTN, TNFD, CSRD and ESRS E4, etc.#indeed#LI-CC1About us:Working at ICF means applying a passion for meaningful work with intellectual rigor to help solve the leading issues of our day.
