- Provides ongoing advising and development to a diverse population of ASUC Officials.
- Attends weekly Senate meetings and Senate committee meetings, commission meetings, and other meetings as needed.
- Advises ASUC Officials on leadership development, advocacy efforts, organizational development, conflict resolution, event planning, fundraising, officer transitions, financial policies and procedures, and campus/community outreach.
- Interprets ASUC budgets using student group financial management software and supports the ASUC Administrative Office, the administrative support office of the ASUC, in maintaining and reconciling the ASUC budgets and approving and processing financial transactions.
- Supports the contract review process with the Director
- Assists in planning, coordinating, and executing retreats, training, and workshops related to leadership and organizational development, including the desired topics and expressed needs of ASUC leadership.
- Works closely with other Student Leadership and Engagement staff and various campus partners to improve existing programs and to develop additional opportunities using assessment, research of best practices, coordination of stakeholders, and evaluation of program effectiveness.
- Directly supervises the ASUC Administrative Office Staff including the General Manager who oversees a team of student employees that manage the ASUC Administrative Office.
- Responsible for hiring, training and developing and supervising the student employees of the ASUC Administrative Office.
- Create policies, and procedures related to the ASUC Administrative Office and its staff.
- Monitors payroll and provides technical knowledge and financial support to the ASUC Administrative Office.
- Advises students on who the best point of contact is within the Student Engagement and Leadership cluster, the ASUC Student Union, and the campus in regards to specific projects and policies.
- Develops a thorough understanding of the various departments in order to best inform students.
- Responsible for identifying, creating, and maintaining collaborative relationships across campus with campus and community stakeholders relevant to the work of the position.
- Specifically, Student Union Event Services, etc.
- Creates and establishes ongoing methods for engaging campus partners in the advising of student government, student organizations, and student communities.
- Advocacy for students and their co-curricular experience through assessment, analytics, and student learning outcomes.
- Serves in various capacities on departmental and divisional committees in an effort to advocate on behalf of student government as well as to support the continuous growth and effectiveness of the Student Leadership and Engagement, the ASUC Student Union, and the Division of Student Affairs.
- Develops and maintains an effective partnership with the other staff within the ASUC Student Union to foster cross collaboration between the ASUC, Graduate Assembly, and student organizations.
- Stays current on literature, developments, and innovations related to student development and student communities, especially with their advising area.
- Attends pertinent conferences and conventions and presents information for shared knowledge.
- Participates on department and campus committees, programs, and projects, as assigned.
- Remains knowledgeable on best practices related to the advising of student governments.
- Completes other duties as may be assigned.
- Thorough knowledge and experience in advising and counseling techniques and student leadership/student development theory and practice.
- Skills in developing learning outcomes and assessing student learning and development.
- Knowledge of the needs of undergraduate student leaders and willing to work in partnership with student government leadership.
- Ability to mediate conflict, problem-solve, and respond appropriately to student concerns.
- Respect for diverse opinions and underrepresented student experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively one-to-one, in small groups and in public speaking contexts.

- This is a 100%, full-time (40 hours per week), career position that is eligible for full UC benefits.
- This position is exempt and paid monthly.
- This is a hybrid position, eligible for up to 40% remote capability.
- This position may require working evenings or weekends
