  • Representation of the subject of Opera Conducting and Opera Practice in teaching and in the development task and developing of the arts at the Institute.
  • Teaching and examination activities as well as supervision of students in the subject of Opera Conducting and in Opera Practice, in particular as part of the planned extension programme for Opera Conducting.
  • Networking and collaboration with other mdw departments and external partners to realise opera scenes and projects with students.
  • Collaboration on organisational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation tasks.
Salary: According to the Austrian collective agreement, the monthly gross pay is a minimum of € 6.362,50 (14 times/year).   • a domestic or equivalent foreign university degree appropriate to the position or an equivalent artistic aptitude.
  • outstanding artistic qualifications in the subject to be filled.

Specific Requirements
  • several years of experience as a conductor or “Kapellmeister_in” in the international music industry.
  • Teaching experience in the field of Conducting or Opera Accompaniment.
  • extensive knowledge of opera and operetta repertoire.
  • Structuredness and leadership qualities in the area of organisation.
