- Evaluate electrical system designs & installations, products, components, capabilities, suitability & applications
- Work Directly with E&I Techs, Metrology, Automation, Electricians, Engineering Contractors, EHS, PMO and End Users.
- Work with Engineering partners to review project designs, help maintain E&I specifications for consistency across the site.
- Manage & execute electrical system distribution, maintenance, upgrades, modifications, & improvement projects
- Evaluate completed installations & observe operation to ensure conformance to design & equipment specifications & compliance with operational & safety standards
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and instrumentation malfunctions
- Identify & manage service contracts for electrical system & other related equipment service contracts
- Maintain product & company reputation by complying with federal & state regulations
- Identify & support required EHS & regulatory safety training requirements & lead efforts to ensure compliance
- Maintain the Arc Flash/Selective Coordination/Load Flow Studies software
- Conduct system or equipment walk downs with respect to electrical design & installation
- Ensure identification of & collaboration regarding interfaces to other processes & support systems
- Participate in design work shops with engineering suppliers for any future projects
- Create, develop, & maintain system SOPs, maintenance plans, training plans, electrical diagrams, single lines, or other related electrical system documentation
- Facilitate knowledge transfer from projects to facilities & operations where applicable
- Maintain SME status by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies
- Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
- Other accountabilities, as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field of study from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education & experience required
- May consider an Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology or related technical field of study from an accredited university with a minimum of seven (10) years of experience as electrical engineer in the fields of power generation, distribution, or manufacturing
- May consider a High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of nine (12) years of experience as electrical engineer in the fields of power generation, distribution, or manufacturing
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience as electrical engineer in the fields of power generation, distribution, or manufacturing required
- Subject Matter Expert in Power Distribution Systems & Electrical Systems Design required
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Electrical Codes, Standards, Construction Methods & Laws required
- Expertise in performing electrical system design & engineering calculations required
- Proven ability to build strong working relationships; lead tasks & project teams, manage a continuously changing work environment, take initiative & drive implementation of projects without formal authority required
- Actively participate in team activities, support ideas/actions of others & uses appreciative feedback style to coach others in how to “make their idea even better” required
- Proven coaching skills required
- DeltaV Charm hardware installation experience preferred
- DeviceNet hardware design/installation preferred
- Instrumentation Knowledge, design/installation (Pharma and Chemical) preferred
- Hazard Area knowledge/understanding/design/installation preferred
- Conductor/Breaker Sizing experience preferred
- Distribution System experience preferred
- Rockwell/AB/Eaton MCC hardware design/installation experience preferred
- AB Drives & Starters experience preferred
- Backup Generation experience preferred
