We are on the lookout for a talented KS1 Teaching Assistant to join our team on a supply basis, bringing joy and creativity to primary schools in Sunderland.GSL Education is looking for a Teaching Assistant to work in a mainstream primary school in Sunderland. This is a good school known for the strong values they have and the care they show both staff and pupils alike. The school is centrally located, easy to reach by both car or public transport . The successful candidate will be available to work Monday to Friday Term time only – hours of 8.30-3.30pm.We welcome applications from any recent graduates who wish to gain classroom experience prior to Teacher Training.Teaching Assistant Role
  • You will engage with children and enforce positive behaviour
  • You will Support teaching and Learning within the class
  • Assisting with preparation, planning and marking if required
  • Taking small groups for interventions – for example Maths or Phonics
  • Carry out administrative duties, such as preparing the classroom and clearing away after class to ensure effective teaching can take place.
  • Available to work Monday to Friday Term time only – hours of 8.30-3.30pm
Requirements
  • Positive approach to working with children and the ability to motivate, inspire and build rapport.
  • You will have loads of initiative, be well organised and pro-active
  • A strong regard for safeguarding and Child protection.
  • Respect for diversity, as you'll be working with pupils from a range of backgrounds
  • communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with pupils, parents, teachers and governors.
  • Reading, writing and numeracy skills.
  • Relevant qualifications in supporting teaching and learning in schools and early childhood or experience working or caring for children or adults with special needs before
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service OR the willingness to complete an immediate application
  • Be a qualified level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant or have other relevant experience ( care, family member support, Youth work etc )
  • RTW in the UK and a fully checkable work history
