- Supervision of: No direct reports
- Liaises with: SC QC Team, SC Operations, Operations, Technical Assurance, Category Management, third-party inspection agencies, Suppliers, and Service Providers.
- Collaborating with other SC QC Leads (E&I, Mechanical, Static and Valves&Piping)
- Develop and implement quality control procedures, policies, and standards for welding, coating, and inspection processes in compliance with industry codes, standards, and regulations.
- Ensure that all quality control activities are carried out in accordance with company procedures.
- Conduct or coordinate regular inspections to ensure compliance with quality requirements, specifications, and procedures.
- Develop and maintain quality control documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and quality records.
- Provide guidance and support to operations teams regarding quality control requirements, procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor and track the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to ensure their effectiveness.
- Liaise with SC Stakeholders, suppliers, operations, third-party inspection agencies, and regulatory authorities to address quality-related matters and inspections.
- Developing standardized Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) / Standard QC-Checklist
- Fluent in English & Portuguese is a MUST.
- Engineering degree in mechanical, metallurgical engineering, or a similar engineering discipline.
- Proven 10 years of experience in engineering or inspection discipline.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in their technical discipline (Mooring / Static Equipment)
- Experience in Inservice inspection and Equipment refurbishment is required.
- Expert in leading and deploying quality improvement projects.
- Knowledge and familiarity with industry Specifications/Codes/Standards.
- Experienced ISO 9001 Lead Auditor and familiar with QMS frameworks.
- Familiar with management systems audits and requirements.
- Proven record of leading quality initiatives and process improvement.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiar with Lean and Quality tools or willing to develop in this area.
- Excellent planning and leadership abilities.
- Extensive knowledge of industry codes and standards such as API, ASME, ASTM, NACE, and ISO.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), NACE Coating Inspector, API, etc., and other related qualifications are required. Able to conduct technical investigations to identify Root Cause Analysis, define corrective actions, and follow up for effective deployment.
