- Teach sections of general theater (9th grade level), as well as a variety of elective courses in topics such as acting and directing, theater history, and public speaking (9th-12th grades).
- Direct 9th-12th grade students in a Fall or Spring Play production.
- Advise 12th Grade students in producing a night of student-directed theater.
- Provide meaningful, individualized feedback and support to students.
- Work closely with colleagues, the department head, and prep school administration to support the academic, social, and emotional well being of all students.
- BA/BFA in theater or theater education, with a focus in acting and directing.
- Significant experience directing full-length play productions at an educational level.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills and a desire to work with a creative team of students, educators, and professional designers to put on theatrical productions.
- A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive theater community.
- Experience developing and leading experiential and process-based curriculum, including ensemble exercises and improv games, for actors at all skill levels.
- An intellectual curiosity, an aptitude for learning, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Experience teaching at the high school level is preferred.
- 7:45am-3:30pm Monday through Friday
- 3:00pm-6:00pm play rehearsals for up to 8 weeks per school year.
- Weekend and after school technical rehearsals leading to opening night.
- Weekly faculty and department meetings until 4:30pm
