This critical role is tailored for a certified accountant ready to embed their expertise within a dynamic and progressive environment. The Finance Management Accountant will be instrumental in leading the financial department, inclusive of two full-time staff members. Responsibilities include direct reporting to the board and senior management, overseeing the financial reporting, and crafting financial strategies that support both short-term needs and long-term aspirations.Key Responsibilities for this Head of Finance Role
  • Accurate and timely preparation and submission of monthly financial and management accounts.
  • Leadership and mentorship within the finance team, fostering an environment of high performance and continuous development.
  • Comprehensive management of company finances including accounts oversight, cash flow, and profit/loss forecasting.
  • Detailed financial analysis and reporting to aid strategic decision-making at senior levels.
  • Management of the annual external audit and consistent handling of tax reporting requirements.
  • Development and refinement of financial practices and policies across the studio, enhancing financial health and strategic initiatives.
Requirements for this Head of Finance Role
  • Accredited accounting qualification with extensive experience in statutory accounting and audits.
  • Prior leadership experience in a service-based firm of a similar scale, ideally within the architecture or built environment sectors.
  • Proficiency in financial software such as Excel, Xero, and project accounting tools like CMAP.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead effectively and interface at all management levels.
