Postdoctoral fellowship in epidemiology /biostatistics/medical statisticsCampus AhusJob descriptionApplicants are invited for a 3-year position as a postdoctoral fellow in epidemiology/biostatistics/medical statistics to be based at the K. G. Jebsen Centre for Cardiac Biomarkers.The K. G. Jebsen Centre for Cardiac Biomarkers is an internationally recognized research group within cardiovascular biomarker research and cardio-oncology led by Professor Torbjørn Omland at Campus Akershus University Hospital (Campus Ahus), Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo, Norway.You can find more information about the Centre here: (lenke kommer)The successful candidate will be involved in cardiovascular/cardiometabolic disease research that may involve analysis and interpretation of clinical and population-based epidemiological studiesMore about the positionThe appointment is a fulltime position and is made for a period of up to three years.The main purpose of the fellowship is to qualify researchers for work in higher academic positions within their disciplines.The candidateWe seek a highly motivated, result oriented and skilled person with strong commitment to clinical and/or epidemiological research. In addition to skills in biostatistics at an advanced level, emphasis will be put on flexibility, interpersonal and collaborative skills, as well as the ability to work independently. Previous biostatistics experience in cardiovascular or cardiometabolic biomarker research, cardiovascular imaging research, or clinical or genetic epidemiological research will be desirable. The candidate will work in close collaboration with other researchers at the Centre.   • Applicants must hold a degree equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree in medicine, epidemiology or biostatistics. Doctoral dissertation must be submitted for evaluation by the closing date. Appointment is dependent on the public defence of the doctoral thesis being approved.
  • Fluent oral and written communication skills in English and a Scandinavian language.
The following qualifications will count in the assessment of the applicants:
  • Experience with clinical, genetic and/or population-based epidemiologic research
  • Experience with SPSS, STATA or R Preferably methodological experience within one or more of the following
  • Statistical biomarker analyses
  • Prediction modeling
  • Survival analyses (time-to-event modeling) Updated June 2016
