Seeking a role where you can add value and have the opportunity to develop and grow?Viking Office Netherlands has an exciting opportunity for a Pricing Strategy Manager to join our European headquarters in Venlo, the Netherlands. The role is a full-time, permanent position. Viking offers a hybrid working solution in which you're expected to work 60% or more at the office and the remaining time you could work from home.This position combines multiple pricing strategies that are all linked together at the core of our business. The 3 main pricing areas within Viking are: eCommerce webshops / VikingOne customer segment and Contractual sales to large customers. You will be driving the price setting for those areas in close collaboration with multiple departments like Purchasing & Assortment / Marketing and SEA. As Pricing Strategy Manager, you will be in an operational position while leading 1 Pricing Analyst.
You're the center of excellence around Pricing and will need to focus a lot on the technical side of Pricing to prevent wrong price setting.The position of Pricing Strategy Manager is placed at our European headquarters in Venlo where also the Pricing Analyst is based. At the Venlo office, we also have most of the colleagues based from the Purchasing and Assortment teams but also the overall Marketing department with a dedicated and inhouse SEA team.Your role as Pricing Strategy Manager
  • Planning and implementation of international and interdisciplinary Pricing projects
  • Conduct complex analysis to identify and apply effective Pricing strategies tailored to individual international markets (countries);
  • Preparation of transparent evaluations and analyses of current developments and the associated derivation of recommendations for action for various internal stakeholders and Management;
  • Utilize statistical modeling methods to assess the potential impact of Pricing strategies on profitability, competitive landscape, and customer shopping behavior;
  • Reviews and creates transparency of what we use; systems, tooling, processes, measures, checks, feeds, data refresh;
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration and relations by interacting with key stakeholders from different teams in operative and strategic pricing;
  • Provide proactive support for decision-making on Pricing engine rules, identifying risks and potential improvements.
  • Pleasure in critically scrutinizing existing processes and independently devising new processes
What do you need to be successful in this role?
  • University degree with a focus on business administration and analysis
  • Strong educational or practical background in areas like Data Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or a related field;
  • Professional experience in rule-based strategic pricing, ideally in a retail / eCommerce environment;
  • Excellent language skills in English both spoken and written. Any other language skills in German, Dutch, or French would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to pitch ideas and effectively communicate insights to diverse audiences
  • Ability to derive pragmatic business decisions, coupled with strong consulting skills
  • High level of commitment, initiative, and ability to work under pressure
  • Very good Excel skills (including experience in setting up Excel tools) are a prerequisite
  • Understanding of programming languages such as SQL, Python, VBA, or R, is an advantage.
  • Any experience with using Power BI is beneficial
