With our breathtaking grounds and well-mannered children, we offer a distinctive educational journey emphasizing both academic excellence and personal growth.Role Overview: We're on the lookout for a seasoned SENCO to join our team and aid with September admissions. With one of our part-time SENCOs on extended leave, immediate support is crucial to ensure the seamless operation of our SEN department. The ideal candidate will boast prior experience in SEN coordination and tribunal procedures, particularly in advocating for funding support from Local Authorities. Given our focus on supporting children with Autism, ASD, ADHD, and some emotional needs, expertise in these areas is indispensable. This role entails close collaboration with families, staff, and external agencies to deliver bespoke support tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students.Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the September admissions process, ensuring smooth transitions for SEN students.
  • Provide assistance to our existing SENCO and fellow staff to manage workloads efficiently.
  • Champion students' needs and secure funding support through tribunal processes.
  • Collaborate with families, staff, and external agencies to craft and execute individualized support plans.
  • Maintain meticulous records and monitor student progress, ensuring adherence to SEN regulations and policies.
  • Contribute to the refinement of SEN policies and practices within the school.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a SENCO or in a similar role, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Thorough understanding of SEN requirements, particularly pertaining to Autism, ASD, and ADHD.
  • Proficiency in drafting tribunal letters and advocating for funding support.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective liaison with stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational abilities and adeptness at managing multiple tasks proficiently.
  • Possession of a full driving license and access to own vehicle (beneficial due to rural location).
