- High school diploma or equivalent required. A two-year degree in Mechanical Drafting and Design or a related field is highly preferred.
- At least 7 years’ design/drafting experience.
- Hands-on experience or training with SolidWorks or similar CAD programs including the following techniques: Part Design, Assemblies, Detail / Assembly Drawings, and PDM File Management preferred.
- Valve design experience preferred
- Able to provide strong guidance to other designers and drafters.
- Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Drafting Standard.
- Ability to read, understand, and apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing strongly preferred.
- Strong mechanical skills pertaining to form, fit, and function of mechanical assemblies.
- Ability to collaborate with engineering personnel to obtain information needed to complete drawings within assigned timelines.
- Understanding of concepts of part design for manufacturing processes (especially molding, stamping, casting, machining and welding).
- Attention to detail, regulations, and safety procedures.
- Organization & time management skills.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Team work ethic and have the ability to work autonomously with initiative and urgency
