- Transcribe handwritten inspection reports into digital format using word processing software with high accuracy and speed.
- Arrange and format the content of inspection reports according to predefined templates, ensuring consistency and adherence to company standards.
- Review typed reports for errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting, making necessary corrections to ensure the accuracy and professionalism of the final product.
- Coordinate with inspection team members and supervisors to clarify any ambiguities or missing information in handwritten reports, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the final product.
- Save copies of the reports into the defined database of completed inspection reports, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
- Distribute (via mail or electronically) copies of the completed reports to customers and engineers.
- Manage workload effectively, meeting tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Adhere to established quality control procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy in all typed reports.
- Remain updated on company policies, report templates, and formatting guidelines to enhance typing efficiency and maintain consistent standards.
- Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent) preferred.
- Proven experience as a typist, data entry operator, or similar role, preferably in a technical or engineering environment.
- Proficient typing skills with exceptional accuracy and speed.
- Excellent knowledge of word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word) and ability to format and organise documents effectively.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to detect errors and inconsistencies.
- Solid grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with technical terminology commonly used in engineering inspections would be an advantage.
