Role Overview:
  • Responsible for the full spectrum of finance and administrative functions for a shopping mall in accordance with statutory requirements, company policies, and procedures.
  • Identify and recommend workflow/process improvements to enhance overall effectiveness and efficiency of the department's operations.
Scope of Duties:
  • Ensure effective maintenance of full set of accounts, GST and income tax submission, cash flow forecast, and accurate reporting of financial matters, results, management reports, analysis of results, and statutory matters.
  • Drive consistency and cost-effectiveness, ensuring strict compliance with all accounting procedures and company policies.
  • Develop the annual budget, challenge departmental budgets, and present to the Board of Directors.
  • Address auditors' queries and meet stipulated deadlines.
  • Manage the finance and admin team to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Anticipate, identify, and articulate legal issues on various corporate and commercial matters to senior management and the Board, assisting in corporate/business strategies.
  • Provide advice on matters of law, compliance, governance, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the administration flow operates effectively and efficiently.
  • Monitor the procurement team to manage purchasing and procurement activities, including supplier management, ensuring value for money.
Requirements:
  • At least a Bachelor's Degree or Professional Degree in Finance, Accountancy, or Banking (CPA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 8 years' experience in a managerial position.
  • Experience in the operations of the retail/mall/property development industry is an advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP systems, accounting frameworks, and regulations. Experience with the Yardi system is an added advantage.
  • Ability to grasp complex areas of law rapidly and accurately.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Financial management skills, including budgeting and forecasting, are an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal, and leadership skills, including relationship building.
