- Ensure that the BSL EMEA entities’ accounting is performed as stated in company procedures, financial close schedules and in accordance with US GAAP, SOX and statutory laws.
- Analytical review of the monthly financial results of UK, Germany and Netherlands site with regards to quality and compliance of those results and processes.
- Technical accounting research of complex issues to ensure proper accounting treatment and compliance with US GAAP, company policies and statutory regulations.
- Review and improve the quality of accounting activities and processes such as reconciliations and journal entries, ensure accounting activities are well supported, documented and audit ready.
- Actively support the Finance and Accounting team during month-ends on complex accounting treatments as defined in the close schedules and check lists to ensure accuracy, timeliness, consistency and completeness of the financial results.
- Assist with the implementation of new operation and financial software within BSL EMEA.
- Lead direct and indirect tax compliance and relationship with corporate tax teams as well as local authorities.
- Manage site compliance with treasury and tax related relationships with corporate teams and external partners.
- Support all internal and external audit.
- Prepare UK and Netherlands statutory accounts and assist with Germany statutory accounts.
- Identify and drive improvement initiatives to ensure enough support for changing business dynamics; full accountability to understand needs, development of implementation plans and the corresponding execution.
- Provide advice and guidance to business on finance related matters, ensuring consistency and compliance with Finance policies and standards.

- Strong written communication skills, along with clear and concise verbal skills, are required. The ideal candidate will have the ability to acquire operational consensus with easy-to-understand analysis and presentations and communicate across all levels.

- Excellent skills with MS Excel, Power BI and MS PowerPoint are required; Further IT skills such as Data Warehouse, Oracle, COGNOS, and Visual Basic.
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Qualified Accountant with significant post qualification experience. CIMA/ACCA/ACA
- Advanced Qualification Preferred (MBA, or MS)
- Has a strong background as a Statutory Controller
