Job DescriptionThe Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University is seeking to employ a qualified postdoctoral fellow in the area of heterogenous catalysis and thermochemical conversion of biomass for a fixed time period of two years. The ideal candidate is to have a strong and well-proven experience in: - Running catalytic reactions in a flow gas phase reactor , and thermo-chemical reactions (Pyrolysis, Oxidation and Gasification) - Strong background in catalytic reactions, biomass conversions and different types of thermal treatments. - Experienced in developing laboratories and designing laboratory experiments, formulating research goals and testable hypotheses identification of various organic and inorganic molecules in complex liquid and gas matrices. - Experience in operating different chromatographic techniques independently and interpreting the results (IC, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, GC-TCD, GC-FID, GC-BID, GC-MS) - Experience in operating material science characterization tools independently and interpreting the results (XPS, XRD, SEM, EDS, FTIR, BET, and TPR) - Experienced in performing simultaneously Lab research, computational simulation, and Kinetic-modelling - Experience in modeling surface reactions via DFT computations - Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English - Excellent recent record of publications in good impact Q1 journals (preferably 2020-2024)Minimum Qualification
A PhD degree in Chemical engineering or Chemistry in the field of heterogenous catalysis.
