- Understand and utilize royalty tracking software to enforce process adherence and compliance among Licensees
- Apply knowledge of Licensee agreements to ensure Licensees are reporting royalties in compliance with these terms
- Support the audits of Licensees that are conducted by Global Licensing leadership
- Ensure currency conversion rates used by Licensees are accurate and comply with their agreement
- Collect tax support and withholding documentation from Licensees to support management of tax risk
- Validate, collect and summarize forecasted royalties accurately on a quarterly basis, providing the summary to the Program Manager in adherence to internal deadlines including explanations of variances
- Reconcile all royalty payments to invoices, communicate any variances to the Program manager and follow up with Licensees as directed
- Account for all royalty payments, including minimum guarantee and royalty advances, according to GAAP accounting principals
- Identify and track late payments, communicating delinquent payments to the THX Finance representative and the Licensing Program manager
- Calculate and invoice for late fees as needed
- Support the Program manager with next steps in communication of delinquent accounts
- Responsible for reporting and monthly THX FP&A cycles/cadence for Global Licensing
- Monthly manage, track and report on complicated minimum guarantee and royalty advances structures
- Provide a quarterly report showing the amount due to Hershey from all applicable licensees
- Provide a quarterly statement that outlines the revenues collected by country
- Support period-end accounting close processes including journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations, and financial reports
- Fulfill SOX control requirements as needed
- Provide technical accounting and royalty expertise to internal stakeholders
- One-time requests or analyses as needed in support of the International Licensing Business
- At least 2 to 3 years of work experience in accounting, planning, analytical and/or strategic capacity
- Experience in licensing/royalties is highly preferred
- Strong proficiency in US GAAP reporting, general ledger accounting and financial management reporting processes
- Self-starter capable of taking the initiative with minimal direction and demonstrates initiative by working proactively by raising key opportunities and risks/issues to management teams
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/areas of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to leverage business systems (SAP) and tools (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.) to support business execution and measurement of results
- Strong ability to work cross-functionally
- Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of employees
- Works effectively in a team environment
- Knowledge and experience with SAP systems and processes
- Proficiency in using PowerBI, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint
