Emotional Health & Wellbeing Practitioner - GatesheadThe post-holder will work within an innovative mental health team.Emotional Health and Wellbeing services opening hours supports the needs of the communities in which we work, and therefore there are elements of unsociable hours – this may include evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.Permanent position but with a provisional end date for funding of 31/3/2025Salary: £29,855.00 per annumHours: 37 hour weekThere are four posts we are willing to consider full time and part time hours. Please indicate on statement hours you are interested in.Benefits: 28 days holiday per year (plus Bank holidays), Family-friendly policies, Cycle to work scheme, Pension- employee contributions of up to 8%, Death in service benefit, Discounted health scheme, Free confidential counselling serviceDo you want to support a team who work with children, young people with emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties?The post holder will support Children, Young People, and Young Adults in our Emotional Health & Wellbeing services based in Gateshead by offering low intensity support under a brief intervention framework.The Children’s Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We’re there for children, every step of the way.The nature of the service means that service users require intensive support to be provided during out of hours and weekends. The service holds no waiting lists and therefore the ability to build relationships quickly, identify risks, and process further support is vital.We are looking for a Well Being Practitioner that:
  • Has a genuine passion and working knowledge of young people and mental health.
  • Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with CYP and families
  • Experience of working in settings with young people who have emotional, behavioural and/or mental health concerns.
  • Has a background or worked in Health Care, Education, Youth Work or Social work
  • Able to provide direct low level therapeutic support that is person centred.
  • Able to deliver improved wellbeing for children &young people presenting in crisis.
  • a good working knowledge of Mental and Emotional Health Issues that young people face today, including interventions on how to support young people in overcoming these challenges.
