Main Purpose:The Proposal Engineer - Solar is responsible for the production of Proposals as identified by the Business Development team from initial pre-qualification, producing a winning proposal package, subsequent customer discussion, through to contract award and then hand over to the project team once the order has been signed, the proposal could include value proposition/strategy development, solution development, commercial considerations, partner identification, vendor management, running the enquiries and supplier selections together with procurement team, programme scheduling, risk management, preparation and presentation of business cases with the assistance of the relevant teams within Puma EnergyKnowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:Key responsibilities:The role of the Proposals Engineer - Solar includes, but is not limited to, the following aspects:

Take an active role in the development of qualification questionnaires and tenders issued by our customers, and ensure the tender responses reflect the strategy of the company to produce a winning response to the customer.
Building strong relationships with clients and partners and internally within the various departments of Puma Energy and the wider group.
Directly manage or participate in specific projects pre-qualifications and tenders;
Ensuring timely submission of applications by client requirements following high-quality standards;
Run required software simulations for Solar PV plant and work closely with engineering teams to produce BOM/BOQ
Work closely with the Puma Energy procurement team and vendors to create and submit pricing suggestions;
Liaising with internal teams to compile company project experience credentials documents, formatted CVs and capability statements, references, certificates technical responses commercial responses etc for Pre-qualification questions and Tenders issued by our customers.
Prepare, present, and seek approval on project business case presentation under Limits of Authority.
Develop a repository of templated responses for written proposals and budget calculations;
Track the progress of the Pre-qualifications and tenders submitted to our customers.
Attend meetings with our customer and their supply chain as necessary to progress the Prequalification and tenders.
Identify future potential opportunities during discussions with our customers.
Prepare and provide weekly update reports on the progress and status of submitted projects and pipeline

Skill Set:

Knowledge and understanding of the bid process
Ability to run software simulation tools like Helioscope / Homer/ PV Syst
Experience of cost estimation and business case
Experience in Solar Business would be of benefit
Ability to read manufacturing drawings and technical data sheets

Experience of working within multinational teams would be of benefit.

Helioscope / PV Syst/ Homer
MS Projects / Primavera / AutoCAD

Professional Experience: 0-5 years or more in Solar Industry (preferably C&I sector)Travel Requirement: 20% to 40% depending on project requirements across AfricaKey Relationships and Department Overview:Internal - Head of Bids & Proposals , Business Development and various departementExternal - Customers, Clients and Partners
