Advertised Position Title: Assistant Director, College Credit PlusJob Description:Under the supervision of the Director, College Credit Plus, the Assistant Director, College Credit Plus provides leadership and oversight for a team of College Credit Plus Advisors in order to assist and support College staff, external collegiate and high school partners, and potential/current College Credit Plus students.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • General knowledge of the College Credit Plus (CCP) program in the state of Ohio.
  • Experience with College policies and procedures, catalog, degrees, and prerequisite/corequisite requirements.
  • Practical knowledge of computer-based student information systems.
  • Familiarity with higher education policies and procedures related to CCP principles and practices.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, including an ability to concurrently manage multiple projects.
  • Team development acumen, including coaching skills, conflict management and resolution, team member evaluation and training, and an ability to readily establish rapport with a wide variety of internal and external constituents.
  • An ability to remain calm and solution-oriented during times of stress.
  • Capacity to exercise independent decision-making abilities in accordance with the Owens mission, vision, and values and student application- and registration-related policies and procedures; a student-centric focus.
  • Good judgement and the capability to make timely, binding decisions that impact others.

  • Demonstrated supervisory skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective, collaborative professional relationships with both internal and external colleagues.
Essential Functions:
  • Maintain a general knowledge of all college programs. Work to stay current on major/program information as well as changes at the College that impact students.
  • Collaborate with high schools to develop and manage college articulation relationships and agreements.
  • Provide support to CCP advisors, such as advising students and assisting with CCP-related events.
  • Create and update CCP marketing materials in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate CCP orientation.
  • Coordinate batch registrations for CCP students taking courses at partner schools.
  • Act as the College contact for Career Tech partnerships and the development of Career Tech pathways.
  • Develop and maintain CCP process manual and timelines for use by the Office of Admissions.
  • Supervise and manage CCP team performance, conduct performance appraisals, and guide staff in the development, execution, and monitoring of performance improvement plans as needed.
  • Assist with College events, high school visits, and general student appointments as needed.
  • Responsible for leading day-to-day operations within the CCP area, including troubleshooting, problem solving, and consultation for students, faculty, staff, and external colleagues.
  • Attend College-related or outside agency meetings as related to the position and as necessary. Consistently represent the College in a professional manner. Actively participate in initiatives as relevant to functional area.
  • Handle next-level processes for students pertaining to student concerns, grievances, or complaints.
  • Assist the Director, College Credit Plus in management and monitoring of a departmental budget.
  • Other duties as deemed appropriate and/or assigned.

  • Willingness to step in where needed and with a positive attitude, whether this is assisting with serving food or speaking to a large community group about the College.
