- Review transactions with varying degrees of complexity and prepare manual journal entries with proper support.- Review and submit payment requests for the business unit's recurring, external vendors.- Strictly adhere to segregation of duties roles in cooperation with other back-office team members- Prepare and analyze monthly variance reports and communicate key drivers to management.- Compile data and prepare reports in compliance of external regulatory reporting requirements.- Prepare general ledger account reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are properly resolved.- Assist in the activities related to annual external audits and interim work, as well as regulatory audits.- Identify opportunities to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations through automation, data access, enhanced reporting and procedural adjustments. Assist with development and implementation as needed.- Ensure appropriate financial controls and procedures are maintained in accordance to GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley regulations and company policies.- Support and backup the team's Expert Accountant role.- Work extended hours as needed to meet business needs.- Work in a hybrid environment where you are expected to work in the main office on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The team has the option to work remotely on Wednesday and Friday.- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.Basic Qualifications: (required)- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business- General knowledge of financial statement structures and general ledger systems- Knowledgeable in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)- Previous experience in:o Excel utilizing pivot tables and functionso Process improvement initiativesPreferred Qualifications: (desired)- SAP systems experience
