MFC Logistics Operator Slag Car - MiddelburgFull job descriptionPURPOSE OF THE JOBTo safely operate, load, prepare and discharge various materials to and from different plant locations by means of Surface Mobile Equipment including the Royal Slag Carrier and to assist with slag handling and liquid metal transfers on a shift basis.BALANCED SCORECARD PILLARS, ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITYParticipate and comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)CUSTOMERSEnsure Customer SatisfactionBUSINESS PROCESSESEnsure the OHSA safety and health standards are maintainedTo operate the following Surface Mobile Equipment in accordance with operational and safety standards:Front End Loader with bucketFront End Loader with Ingot loading bucketRoyal Slag CarrierCommunicate progress of shift work verbally to CoordinatorSubmit activities sheet (log sheet) to Coordinator at end of shift and to other plant areas when requestedIdentify and communicate safety/ health/ environmental hazards and non-conformanceReport damages and assist with investigations if formed part of incidentEnsure own license complianceIdentify and report problems on machines by means of pre- and post-start checklistTo safely transport, load, prepare and discharge various materials (hot and cold) to and from different plant locations by means of Surface Mobile Equipment by means of standards on a shift basisStockpile and slag dump maintenanceAll documentation completed correctly and timeously (checklists and activity tick list)Inspecting and driving a surface mobile equipment in accordance with the required standards & proceduresAssist the Diesel Mechanic with basic tasks during a breakdown situation (No diesel mechanic specialized tasks may be performed)Transporting and inspecting slag pots with the Royal Slag CarrierAssisting with slag handling and furnace operationsTransporting alloy for liquid Metal TransfersWork overtime as and when requiredAny other tasks requiredAct in a Coordinator position as and when requiredMINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:Grade 12 or N3 or N3 that is equivalent to a Grade 12/ Matric (4x Technical subjects or 4x Business subjects and 2x Language subjects)2 years’ relevant experience in a logistics environmentValid Driver’s license (minimum B/ Code 8)Valid Slag Car licenseValid Front End Loader licenseADVANTAGEOUS:Maths & Science in Grade 12/N3BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES REQUIREDSafety AwarenessInitiativeManaging WorkResults OrientationWork StandardsInterpersonal SkillsCommunicationAdaptabilityContributing to Team SuccessWORKPLACE COMPETENCIESSkills:Good Coordination Skills (Hand/eye and foot)Microsoft OfficeSamancor Chrome Systems (IMS, Chromedoc)Knowledge:FRCPsIdentification of slag and alloy Closing Date: 17 April 2024 (Kindly attach copies of all relevant qualifications and documentation)IN MAKING THE FINAL SELECTION, CONSIDERATION WILL BE GIVEN TO ACHIEVING THE SAMANCOR CHROME EMPLOYMENT EQUITY OBJECTIVES
