- The HSE Senior Technical Advisor will be responsible for Health, Safety & Environmental activities within the Plant. You will be part of a team collaborating across functions, from HSE, Production, Engineering, Supply Chain and Maintenance.
- Develop and implement Health, Safety and Environmental systems, policies, procedures, and objectives including preparation and delivery of internal and 3rd party audit requirements.
- Providing competent technical advice on HSE topics to ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant legislation and standards.
- Liaise with regulatory officers as required (e.g. Local authority, Health and Safety Executive) and maintain systems to ensure that the business always complies with HSE requirements.
- Lead and guide the teams in hazard reviews, risk assessments and audits of new or changed plant, processes, and equipment, take the required actions based on the results.
- HSE specialist working with project teams for commissioning and testing of new plant and equipment.
- Lead and guide the team in the investigation of all HSE incidents or accidents and ensure the required records are completed and stored. Ensure lessons learned are captured, communicated and the HSE system updated as required for any such incidents.
- Identify HSE training requirements for all employees and where applicable develop and carry out relevant training.
- Considerable knowledge of ISO45001 and ISO14001, with evidence of development and implementation of systems within a manufacturing environment and ongoing review.
- Demonstrated ability to liaise with Local Authorities, Regulators and Planning.
- Material knowledge of process gases, chemical processes, COSHH, and experience in leading the business in managing its responsibilities.
- Sound knowledge of PUWER and LOLER requirements, experience working with heavy / automated machinery and UKCA / CE requirements.
- Technical knowledge and experience of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, standards and best practice relevant to a manufacturing organisation.
- An ability to influence all levels of the organisation to improve health, safety, and environmental performance, strong, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A bachelor's degree or higher in Health and Safety, Engineering, or related engineering/chemical/technical field.
- NEBOSH Diploma or working towards and preferably a professional Environmental certification & experience of working on a permitted site.
