Team: Greenpeace Greece (GP GR) Reports to: Comms Unit Head Duration: Open-ended contract Location: Athens, Hybrid About the job Greenpeace Greece is looking for an experienced full-time Digital Engagement Specialist to join our dynamic Communication team in Athens. You will act as the face and voice of our brand and manage our virtual community and network. Our ideal candidate has exceptional oral and written communication skills and is able to develop engaging content. You should be a ‘people person’ with the ability to moderate online and offline conversations with our community. Key duties & responsibilities (The Role) – subject but not limited to: Conceive, develop and deliver engaging shareable online content (text, image, video) across owned, earned and paid digital channels Develop an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic and engagement metrics Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification Responsible for keeping the main Greenpeace Greece website up-to-date, content wise Stay informed on innovations in social media, digital technology and techniques and identify opportunities to test and implement new tools / channels that will help increase our online impact Monitor and manage Greenpeace’s Greece online engagement tools / channels and suggest relevant optimization Respond to comments and queries in a timely manner Monitor and report on feedback and online reviews Organize and participate in events to build community and boost brand awareness Collaborate with other departments (Fundraising, Program) to ensure consistency and manage reputation, identify key players and coordinate actions Assist the team with planning digital strategies and campaigns Prepare / assist on weekly and monthly reports regarding social media organic content, web traffic and ROI Monitor analytics regarding user engagement and suggest content optimization Integrate and liaise with engagement teams from Greenpeace International and other Greenpeace offices Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned Requirements Qualifications and experience: Proven working experience (2-3 years) in social media management Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills Excellent in online writing, editing and content management Ability to work under pressure and respond positively to multiple deadlines with a commitment to accuracy and timeliness Ability to take initiative, be creative, present options, and anticipate outcomes Experience launching community initiatives (e.g. building an online forum, launching an ambassador program, creating an event series and writing an email newsletter) Positive attitude, with good multitasking and organizational ability as well as attention to detail Ability to identify and track relevant community metrics (e.g. repeat attendance at events) Ability to interpret website traffic and online engagement metrics Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or similar editing program Experience in managing the content of a website and New Media Understanding of Social Media, SEO, web traffic metrics and Analytics Familiarity with web design and publishing Commitment to deliver innovative, high quality solutions Self-starter, flexible and collaborative with the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team Fluency in written and spoken Greek and English Be able to cover Greenpeace events on social media (some traveling will be needed) Good to have: Experience in NGO’s will be valued BSc in Communication, Marketing or Public Relations Application Details You will be part of a dynamic Global Campaigning Organization, while acquiring new skills and growing professionally.
