The Opportunity:Our client is a leading AI SaaS business specialising in image and video recognition solutions, Visual Threat Intelligence, NSFW (Not Safe for Work), DLP (Data Loss Prevention), and Forensics. They are committed to delivering cutting-edge technology to their clients, while fostering a collaborative and agile work environment.Job Description:They are seeking an experienced Agile Scrum Master to join the Wellington-based team! The Scrum Master will facilitate and lead agile development processes with on-shore and off-shore development teams. You will also work closely with the Data Science and Operations team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of agile methodologies and a proven track record of successfully managing projects using tools like Jira and Confluence (strong fundamental knowledge of the Atlassian suite is highly desired).
Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives with on and offshore team members (8 people in total)
  • Collaborate with the product owner to create and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and maintain the product backlog.
  • Assist the team in story point estimation and velocity tracking to ensure accurate sprint planning and predictable delivery.
  • Monitor and report on team performance metrics, including velocity, burn-down charts, and other relevant KPIs.
  • Maintain project documentation and artifacts using Jira, Confluence, and other relevant tools.
  • Serve as a coach and mentor to the remote teams, promoting cross-functional collaboration and effective communication.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment between business objectives and development efforts.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master or similar role in an agile development environment, preferably with remote/offshore teams.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in using agile project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with remote teams.
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, including development, data science, and operations.
  • Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and DevOps practices.
  • The office is based out in Lyall Bay and the preference is to have someone working from there a few days per week (full time role, WFH flexibility is available)
  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
