Main Purpose: At Trafigura, we connect vital resources to power and build the world. Joining our Team as a Claims Analyst you will be part of a diverse team of experts in demurrage and post-fixture claims, which offers access to unparalleled knowledge, expertise and global exposure.You will prepare, analyse and review a variety of claims, from and to shipowners and counterparties, interacting internally with all commercial teams, striving to improve profit and minimise loss for the Group. You will participate in raising awareness of exposure with many ways (not limited to contracts` negotiation/ annual exposure reports). You will be responsible for your vessels throughout the entire journey from submission of claims till having them settled. You will build bonds with your customers, you will negotiate each and every item and you will be responsible to find creative ways to minimise the outstanding debts. Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities: Competencies: Communicate effectively Able to think analytically and handle complexity Being resilient Ensure accountability Committed Interpersonal savvy Abilities, Experience and Qualifications: University Degree in Shipping or other related field Understanding of basic shipping terms, claims or operations is an asset Experience in similar position will be an advantage Proficient in English (spoken and written) Strong digital literacy in MS office applications Key Responsibilities: Review, analysis and submission of the following claims: Demurrage Non- Demurrage being all post-fixture items (deviation, speed up, heating, purging, port costs, freight differential, war risk costs) Report P&L to internal stakeholders Negotiation of all claims and communication with owners and counterparties Key Relationships and Department Overview: Operations Traders Chartering Deal Desk Contracts Counterparties Brokers Department Overview Claims department is an integral component of Trafigura Group, responsible for handling all demurrage and post-fixture claims globally, assuring accurate reporting in P&L, raising awareness to commercial desks and cargo operations for potential exposure, communicating and negotiating with counterparties /owners to improve profit for the Group.
