- Prepares commercial / pro-forma invoices in accordance with recognized international standards.
- Ensures that all proper export documentation is prepared to facilitate the export of all goods and submits same to appropriate transportation providers.
- Provide feedback on the status of in process orders to ensure on time completion of schedule milestones.
- Review schedules and identify risks / problem issues. Develop work around, contingencies, and expedite materials / information as required.
- Communicate with transport services to ensure prompt pick-up and delivery of shipments.
- Continuously improve shipping processes to optimize customer support.
- Review purchase orders and shipment contents prior to releasing them from our facility.
- Track and analyze mis-shipments to ensure timely resolution.
- Has knowledge of the HTS code and is able to self-classify products in many cases or with the help of technical.
- Is familiar with the provisions of the EAR and helps support, from an operational perspective, the division's compliance program. Helps obtain appropriate licensing as required by the government through coordination with the corporate resources.
- Communicates regularly with warehouse, freight forwarders, and transportation to coordinate the movement of material.
- Provide accurate hazardous material certificates when shipping hazardous products
- Provide required certificates of compliance (fumigation, wood content, etc.) for exporting product.
- Maintain knowledge of international trade regulations to ensure consistent compliance with laws. Is familiar with the regulations of the countries to which the business unit routinely ships.
- Maintains copies of all import and export records as required by law.
- Assists with AES filings if required.
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or equivalent related work experience.
- Minimum of one (1) year related experience in Shipping & Receiving.
- Prefers a minimum of an associate’s degree or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Five (5) years related experience in Shipping & Receiving; or, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
- Oil & Gas industry experience preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees.
- Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written form.
- Ability to analyze situations accurately, utilizing a variety of analytical techniques in order to make well informed decisions.
- Ensures that others involved in a project or effort are kept informed about developments and plans.
- Ensures that regular consistent communication takes place within area of responsibility.
- Ability to work independently and/or collaboratively with business partners.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and has the willingness to undertake new & challenging assignments.
- Ability to resolve problems quickly using sound judgement, reasoning skills and can determine when issues need to be escalated in order to obtain resoultion.
- Highly organized, process-driven and has strong follow-up skills.
- Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night.
- Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace.
- Work surface is stable (flat).
- Lift 20-50 pounds.
- Work in confined spaces, kneel, jump, run, and work while lying on stomach/back, crawl, and use repetitive movements of the arms and hands.
- Identify color differences.
- Wear PPE for skin protection.
- Lift 10-25 pounds.
- Climb stairs/ladders, stand, balance, stoop, squat, reach, and lift/carry objects.
- Twist body sit with back supported, head forward/flexed, head tilted/rotated, and work with arms extended overhead.
- Operate a motor vehicle.
- Lift up to 10 pounds.
- Wear PPE protection for body, vision, and hearing protection.
