- Responsible for the successful delivery and operation of on-premises Microsoft Services Stack
- Setup, migrate, configuration, monitoring, management and troubleshoot of services such as File shares, Directory Services, Patch Management, Print Services, SQL Clusters, across mid and large manufacturing environments, within an ITIL aligned Service Management framework, and in line with standards and Service Levels.
- Produce support documents based on the setup for the operation.
- Possess and maintain a detailed understanding for all Wintel Infrastructure services.
- Proactively seek out opportunities for continuous improvement and propose improvement activities.
- Actively develop automation engineering solutions, identifying where automation should be used, and working with operations teams to implement solutions.
- Incorporate security-by-design into all solutions, ensuring that security requirements are considered concurrently with technical requirements.
- Responsible for the resolution of incidents and service requests associated with the networking services.
- Successful work in a team covering support throughout the day and evening through on-call support.
- Responsible for the security, resilience, and monitoring of the Wintel Infrastructure services.
- Responsible for identifying and undertaking Service Improvements.
- Responsible for working closely and collaborate with the other teams within Ferring TechOps IT Infrastructure and 3rd parties / vendors to provide an excellent overall IT Service.
- Responsible for the adoption into service of new solutions ensuring operational suitability.
- Carry out continuous personal development, ensuring technical skills are kept up to date and non-technical skills are gained and improved.
- Provide input and develop scripts to automate operational tasks and focus on continuous process improvements
- Follow ITSM (ITIL) methodology to manage changes, incidents, and problems
- Use standard enterprise tools to log, track, and close activities (support and projects)
- Work on special project assignments as needed
- University degree or equivalent in Information Systems, Engineering or similar.
- Demonstrable experience covering the setup, configuration, monitoring, management and troubleshooting of Windows Server Operating System (build, administration, security, and automation tools)
- Setup, Migrate and maintenance Servers in the domain of Active Directory, SQL , SCCM , FileShare , Print, but also services such as DNS, DHCP, IIS, Group Policy, Clustering, Terminal Services, LDAP and Windows scripting/automation.
- Technical infrastructure knowledge supporting Windows Server Operating Systems
- Support of a distributed MS Windows-based network
- Strong record of operational success managing Windows Server services including outstanding troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Functional skills in basic protocol analysis, and IP addressing and routing.
- PowerShell or other development/scripting experience.
- Motivated to work in a fast paced environment with many challenges
- Strong skills in setting up Microsoft cluster services on VMware or Hyper-V
- Experience in setup, configuration, monitoring, management and troubleshooting Microsoft SQL clusters
- Experience in troubleshooting IIS webservers
- Handing of server crashes (BSOD) and server recovery
- Tuning of Windows operating system templates based on server roles
- Experience in Windows server migrations
- Creation of Windows server templates for virtualization platforms (VMware / Hyper-V)
- Experience in remote command based tools like PSTOOLS
- Experience in Securing/Hardening Windows Servers
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP network
- Experience in handling NFS client / NFS shares in Windows server
- Good understanding of working with Vendors
- Experience in introducing industry best practices in server deployments.
- Experience in root cause analysis
- Good hands-on on Basic / Dynamic disk configurations
- Experience in managing Linux based member servers in an Active Directory domain
- Windows server memory dump analysis skills
- Experience in installing and configuring Windows server automated installation tools for physical servers
- Experience with Windows OS performance monitoring.
- Knowledge of manufacturing environments or Manufacturing Execution System is a plus
- Willingness to produce, maintain and update professional and technical knowledge documents, as well as, knowledge base articles, how-to's, and other operational guides
- Experience and knowledge of supporting technical solutions in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
- Ability to identify and manage own priorities, as well as set and achieve goals / objectives for self against personal development plans.
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified IT Professional is a Must
- Knowledge of best practices for IT operations.
- Experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow is a plus).
- Provide technical guidance, disciplined judgement, and oversight of Infrastructure Operations activities related to Service Operations, including incidents, problems, service requests, change management for their towers
- Proactively identify and ensure the timely remediation of issues within their towers
- Promptly respond and resolve inquiries and escalations.
- Ensure systemic issues are identified and remedial actions are taken to prevent future occurrences
- Assist in the planning and oversight of change management activities
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities and follow through on tasks Problem solver who exercises sound judgment in complex situations
- Being flexible with working on off-hours, weekends, and even holidays
- Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning using various tools
- Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment
- Experience in pharma industry regulations (GxP, 21 CFR Part 11) is an advantage.
- Experience working within regulated industries.
- Excellent organizational, coordination, interpersonal and communication skills and experience working in an international team across locations and time-zones.
- Fluency in English.
