The Cell Performance Engineer will develop performance models of the different cell generations gen 3a, gen 3b, gen 4a and gen 4b. He/she will also be in charge of monitoring the test in relation with the test team, in order to correlate his/her models.He/she will use Simulink and other SW environments. He/she will be in close interaction with Thermal Model Engineer and Cell Modeling Engineer dedicated to cell management. He/she will design the specific technics, for example to extract calibration data. He will develop tests to support ageing models development. He/she will have to present results of his studies internally and to customers. He/she will manage his simulation environment.As a Cell Performance Engineer, you should be familiar with the following tasks:
  • Perform Simulink performance analyses, build model, propose cell design rules.
  • Calibrate the models with data from tests.
  • Analyze cell performance, characterization and durability tests.
  • Participate to team activity within the Cell Management Modelization group
  • Apply and transmit its knowledge on Li-ion cell electrochemistry
  • Propose new concepts and materials to improve various aspects of an EV cell at chemistry level, relevant with the company roadmap and objectives.
  • Apply agile technics to be able to answer quickly to various internal and external customers.
  • Lead and manage internal and external projects, contracts, while collaborating with internal teams (R&D, , Projects, Simulation colleagues, …).
  • Lead and manage collaborations with suppliers, customers and strategic partners.
  • Contribution in the company roadmap.
  • Be aware of and analyses solutions from competitors.
  • Be up to date to the state of the art on its topic of expertise.
Know how
  • Basic physical phenomenon understanding and modelling (thermal, electrical)
  • Good programming skills
  • Excellent understanding of the Li-ion and solid-state technology
  • Excellent understanding of current technological locks and limits
  • Manufacturing processes of Li-ion cell
  • Knowledge on various analytical methods commonly used in the field of Li-ion battery
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar job
  • Automotive or battery manufacturer is a plus
  • International experience (China, Japan, Korea, Germany, USA) in R&D and/or Production for Li-ion battery
Qualification
  • PhD in Electrochemistry/Automatics/Material Science
  • Fluent in English
