- Collaborate with stakeholders to define the architecture and design principles of the data developer platform on GCP.
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance are central to the platform's architecture.
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of GCP services and tools.
- Ensure chosen services meet the platform's infrastructure requirements, including compute, storage, networking, and security.
- Enhance the developer experience on the platform by streamlining development workflows and tooling.
- Promote best practices to optimize development processes.
- Define and implement data lifecycle management strategies, covering data ingestion, storage, processing, and analytics.
- Leverage GCP data services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub for efficient data management.
- Establish and enforce security policies, access controls, and data governance measures.
- Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data on the platform, in compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Implement robust monitoring and logging solutions to track platform performance and usage metrics.
- Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including BI & Analytics, IT, and AI/ML teams.
- Align platform development efforts with business objectives and ensure cohesion across departments.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in cloud computing and data management.
- Continuously evaluate and integrate new tools and techniques to enhance the platform's capabilities and competitiveness.
- Document architecture designs, technical specifications, and best practices for internal and external audiences.
- Ensure clarity and accessibility of documentation to facilitate understanding and collaboration.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- GCP Cloud architecture & data engineering certifications are a plus.
- At least 5 years of deep experience across systems integration, platforms, and solution architecture.
- Project experience in a cloud-based environment and familiarity with cloud native technologies.
- 5+ years of experience with database technologies.
- Hands-on experience with schema design and definition in a database environment.
- Experience with agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools like GitLab, Jenkins, and ArgoCD.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and Python.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
