You will be part of an existing collaborative and supportive team and will also work closely with the WIO Governance team and Corporate Finance in the joint delivery of finance functions that aligns to both DEW and external funding partner requirements.
A key component of the role is the ability to successfully develop genuine strong networks and relationships that results in a partnered approach to budget management and oversight.To be successful in the role, you will have significant experience and well developed management accounting skills in government, proven ability to establish strong key relationships and be a highly collaborative team player who is solutions focused.What can a day in the role can look like…..
- Joint development and oversight of multi-million dollar project budgets over multiple years, through regular meetings with project staff and Managers.
- Contribute to the development, review and oversight of the finance components within various forms of written correspondence including briefings, funding agreements, workplans and progress reporting.
- Rigorous analysis, reconciliation and reporting to ensure the alignment of project workplan budgets and DTF Forward Estimate budgets.
- Identifying risks and/or opportunities and referring accordingly, including advice/recommendations.
- Responding to queries from funding partners that requires investigation of funding agreements, workplans, project budgets and progress reports.
- Preparing financial acquittals and assisting with external audit processes by providing the supporting financial information requested for projects.
- System maintenance including journals, budget adjustments, carryovers etc
- Extend your finance skills beyond the “normal” management accounting skills in this unique role!
