Kinetic Solutions Group (KSG), a leading specialist engineering company based in Sheffield, is seeking a suitably experienced and dynamic Project Quantity Surveyor to join our team.This pivotal role will be instrumental in managing and controlling commercial/contractual aspects of our diverse global project portfolio which provides handling, lifting and movement solutions across the nuclear, defence, aerospace and kinetic architecture sectors.This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on KSG's commercial management function and contribute to high-profile projects. Your expertise will provide key commercial support to Projects and the Senior Leadership team.Required skills and qualifications:
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Understanding of construction/engineering practices, materials, and industry standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder collaboration
  • Proficient using relevant software and project management tools
  • Experience using NEC, JCT and other bespoke forms of contract
  • Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Project Management or Engineering
Budget management:Developing and maintaining a comprehensive project budget.Tracking actual costs against the budget, identifying variances, and taking corrective actions.Forecasting future costs and preparing cost reports for project stakeholders.Contract administration:Reviewing and interpreting construction contracts to ensure compliance with project specifications and budget.Managing contract variations, including issuing change orders and negotiating pricing with clients.Administration of contractual correspondence and compliance.Identifying and managing project related risks and opportunitiesValue engineering:Identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising project quality.Analyzing design alternatives to optimize project cost.Collaboration:Working closely with project managers and engineers to ensure cost-effective project delivery.Communicating cost updates and potential issues to project stakeholders.Identifying and managing project related risks and opportunities
