We have a large diverse team of talented Safe & Happy People, combining their strengths and ambition to bring innovation and evolution which ensures Sustainability for all stakeholders.Across our key sectors - Water, Power, Energy and Aggregates, and supported through our regional office network supported by our manufacturing hub located in the heart of Somerset which forms part of our 60,000ft head office complex - we deliver diverse and interesting projects and programmes throughout UK infrastructure.Our projects range in value from £5k to £15m, taking the role of Principal Contractor and Principal Designer on various schemes, and supporting our valued Tier 1 contractor clients in a subcontractor and off-site manufacturing capacity.Role PurposeAs a Managing Quantity Surveyor you are expected to oversee commercial support to the delivery teams. This will include managing a wide variety of different contract types, mainly consisting of NEC and IChemE. The role would need to manage tight deadlines to meet both internal and external reporting periods.The RoleThis role will be based at our HQ in Midsomer Norton, where we offer a hybrid model of 3 days in the office, 2 days at home with some flexible working. You will be expected to travel to client sites and meetings as required.Contracted to 42.5hrs per week Monday to Friday.
Review and negotiate awarded contracts to ensure a commercially beneficial position to the business.
Responsible for the accurate and on time compilation of reporting to meet strict monthly deadlines.
Responsible for invoicing your own portfolio of projects in line with both on-site progress and contractual requirements, whilst monitoring the overall cost position and ensuring it is maintained at a positive level.
Ensuring that the change control process is implemented correctly with the Delivery Team.
Ensuring that project final accounts are agreed and signed off as swiftly by liaising with key stakeholders.
Responsible for monitoring of project spend along with the delivery team, reviewing budgets to ensure the business and its customers are receiving value for money.
Responsible for the swift set up of contracts to ensure stakeholders have access to key information as soon as possible.
Mentoring and training of junior team members.
Requirements:Due to the current team requirements, we are currently looking for someone with a wealth of experience and would be joining us at a qualified level. We are also open to Senior and Managing QS candidates.Required
5+ years experience in QS environment with use of the NEC suite of contracts.
Confident in reading and understanding project scope documents & drawings.
Competency of MS Excel to advanced level
Full UK driving license
Desirable
MEICA, Mechanical and/or electrical background
RICS (or equivalent)
