
Private Sector Housing Enforcement Officer

- Conduct property inspections using HHSRS and draft schedules of work.
- Prepare and serve legal notices under the Housing Act 2004 and public health legislation.
- Take enforcement action, including preparing legal proceedings and issuing Financial Penalty Notices (FPNs).
- Process property licence applications and provide guidance to landlords and tenants.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including the Police, Public Health, and other agencies.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to queries from the public and stakeholders.
- A relevant degree (BSc, MSc, HNC/HND in Environmental Health, Housing, Building Studies, or a related field).
- A strong understanding of regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to manage a varied caseload and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in IT software, including Microsoft Office.
