UGL have an opportunity for a dedicated Project Engineer (SMP background) to join our site-based team in Kwinana. We have been working on multiple projects to support our client upgrade and convert existing infrastructure of an old fossil fuel refinery into a renewable clean energy hub. The role will see you work on projects that has the potential to shape the future of energy.About the roleAt UGL, we believe a company’s ability to move with market changes and new technologies comes down to the strength of its teams, in this role you will provide engineering services to support the Project Delivery team, specialising in development of time, cost, resource estimates, execution packs, project schedules, budgets and field engineering interfaces with procurement and construction ensure completion in accordance with Project requirements. You will provide safe, reliable and efficient technical expertise to the business, in line with industry practices and UGL policies. This is a full-time role-based on site at BP Kwinana Energy Hub.

Review and interpret design drawings and documentation to develop detailed time, cost, resource estimates for each package.
Engage with the construction team and client stakeholders to develop best practice construction execution methodologies.
Develop detailed construction work packs.
Monitor, report and forecast project costs against approved budgets.
Develop and manage procurement subcontract packages that support project delivery.
Provide a focal point for all technical based queries during project execution.
Support the development, implementation, and compliance of quality documentation such as Inspection and Test Plans and Material Certifications.
Provide assistance and guidance to Stakeholders; Project and Operations Management on technical legislative compliance and other issues.

About You

Mechanical Engineering tertiary qualification & a minimum of 5 years relevant site-based experience
Significant project engineering experience delivering packages in the resource sector, oil & gas and/or petrochemical industries.
Experience in monitoring, reporting and forecasting costs.
Detailed knowledge of Australian & International codes and standards, good engineering practice and the applicable statutory requirements with respect to fuel tanks & piping works.
A desire to grow and develop your experience in Project Management/Project Delivery.
