If so, this is the perfect match for you!The roleWe are seeking an exceptionally talented Financial Lead to join our London team. As our first finance hire, this is a unique, multifaceted role where you’ll have the opportunity to be creative and help us develop how we run our day-to-day financial operations and long term strategic finance planning. You’ll be an inquisitive, collaborative and data-driven innovator who can deliver accurate accounting, reconciliation and reporting key financial data to help drive the evolution of the TourHero platform for our customers, operators, and TourHeroes. Your role is instrumental in playing a key part in driving the success of the growth of the business.What you’ll be doing
  • Take full ownership of the company's financial operation (accounting, bookkeeping, reporting, stakeholder management, some FP&A)
  • Take on strategic projects beyond routine finance and accounting operations to optimise processes and implement enhanced controls.
  • Consolidate and centralise all company financial data to create a single source of truth.
  • Take ownership of our accounting software (Xero) while being open to implementing and championing new systems company wide as needed.
  • Dive deep into understanding the unique financial nuances of our marketplace model like cash vs accrual accounting
  • Streamline and optimise deposit processes, ensuring trip revenues flow effortlessly.
  • Roll up your sleeves and reconstruct the books to provide polished, audit-ready financial reporting.
  • Drive financial planning and analysis by presenting detailed financial reporting and data insights directly to investors and stakeholders.
  • You’ll set up and oversee intercompany transfer agreements across US, UK and Singapore.
  • Collaborate cross functionally to truly understand the business operations that drive the numbers.
  • Analyse financial data to uncover opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
  • Preparation of complex calculations and journal entries, including multi-currency transactions
Requirements
  • Qualified accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA/ATT/CPA)
  • Thorough understanding of IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards and principles.
  • Is a self-starter comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment.
  • Good knowledge of Xero accounting software preferred or demonstrated ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Prior hands-on experience at an online marketplace company, understanding the inherent financial/operational nuances.
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Demonstrated ability to step into disordered financial systems and apply your expertise to overhaul and optimise them efficiently.
  • Possesses excellent communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective work with global teams and stakeholders, including the ability to present financial data to investors/stakeholders.
  • Is a strategic and creative thinker who can analyse data, identify opportunities, and develop strategies to address challenges.
  • Is committed to continuous learning and adaptability, staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
