Become a part of the “strength within.”Hexcel is currently seeking an Electrical & Controls Engineer for our Duxford, UK location.The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
  • Support the maintenance effort across site to improve plant performance and reliability.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects within the department.
  • Provide Electrical & Controls Engineering skill and knowledge to the Project Engineering team.
  • Support project, process and maintenance activities that will lead to improved safety and production efficiencies.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects from concept to successful implementation.
  • Liaise with relevant staff members to ensure successful implementation and sustainability of improvements.
  • Develop concepts into detailed control specifications on a broad range of manufacturing equipment.
  • Creating, maintaining electrical, instrumentation and controls documentation.
  • Supporting site breakdowns as required to return plant into production in a timely manner.
  • Requirement to join the technical support call-out rota. Remain available to support the site, to ensure safety and minimise downtime.
Qualifications:
  • Electrical and Controls Engineer with a Controls/Instrumentation
  • Recognised Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent.
  • Engineering experience in a manufacturing or process environment
  • Experience including design and specification of industrial chemical processes or similar.
  • Rockwell PLC knowledge required (Logix 5000 & 500, plus RS view)
  • Understanding of Safety PLC systems and SIL.
  • Drive knowledge e.g., Allen Bradley, Parker/SDS, ABB
  • Practical application of problem solving and fault finding i.e.,4-20mA loops, Eurotherm controllers, process critical equipment
  • Experience of industry standard risk assessment techniques such as HAZOP, FMEA. Trained in machine safety.
  • ATEX & commissioning experience would be advantageous. 2D CAD knowledge advantageous. (AutoCAD, EPlan etc.)
