- Support the maintenance effort across site to improve plant performance and reliability.
- Lead continuous improvement projects within the department.
- Provide Electrical & Controls Engineering skill and knowledge to the Project Engineering team.
- Support project, process and maintenance activities that will lead to improved safety and production efficiencies.
- Lead continuous improvement projects from concept to successful implementation.
- Liaise with relevant staff members to ensure successful implementation and sustainability of improvements.
- Develop concepts into detailed control specifications on a broad range of manufacturing equipment.
- Creating, maintaining electrical, instrumentation and controls documentation.
- Supporting site breakdowns as required to return plant into production in a timely manner.
- Requirement to join the technical support call-out rota. Remain available to support the site, to ensure safety and minimise downtime.
- Electrical and Controls Engineer with a Controls/Instrumentation
- Recognised Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent.
- Engineering experience in a manufacturing or process environment
- Experience including design and specification of industrial chemical processes or similar.
- Rockwell PLC knowledge required (Logix 5000 & 500, plus RS view)
- Understanding of Safety PLC systems and SIL.
- Drive knowledge e.g., Allen Bradley, Parker/SDS, ABB
- Practical application of problem solving and fault finding i.e.,4-20mA loops, Eurotherm controllers, process critical equipment
- Experience of industry standard risk assessment techniques such as HAZOP, FMEA. Trained in machine safety.
- ATEX & commissioning experience would be advantageous. 2D CAD knowledge advantageous. (AutoCAD, EPlan etc.)
