- Operate various spectrophotometers and liquid handling equipment, such as HPLC and Mass Spectrometry, to quantity and formulate oligos to customers' specifications;
- Perform purifications, desalting, concentrations and quantifications of oligonucleotides;
- Perform NHS ester labelling, manual detritylation of oligonucleotides when required;
- Prepare standard or customized final shipment documentation;
- Assist in the processing and documentation of all orders and projects;
- Perform chemical processing of all mixtures and formulations required for production;
- Perform MQC on raw materials, all mixtures and formulations;
- Oversee items which will expire in the near future in the facility and make the correct disposition decision for them;
- Keep all reagent bottles, pressurized gas cylinders and manifold liquid systems at levels to achieve successful operation;
- Change waste containers and dispose of waste material;
- Perform all necessary decontamination procedures:
- Appropriately document all aspects of production.
- Fill out all required checklists and perform verification for others when necessary.
- Follow all work instructions.
- Assist the shipping and customer service departments with specific oligo related questions.
- Report any problems to management.
- Receive additional training throughout company.
- Perform other duties as specified by management.
- Bachelor's degree in Science related field (Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, …) or equivalent related experience;
- Knowledge of internet, Microsoft word and Microsoft Excel;
- Be punctual and maintain a high level of organization;
- Be able to troubleshoot problems and act accordingly;
- Be able to be on feet for a few hours at a time;
- Able to adapt to changes in the process;
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Able to multi-task;
- Able to interact in a professional manner with customers, employees and all levels of management;
- Able to work in a group or independently;
- Able to read, write and speak in English fluently. Other languages are a plus.
- Able to work 40 hours per week
- Able to lift 12kg or eventually to 40kg.
Early Shift: 6am till 2.30pm
Late Shift: 1.30pm till 10pm
